Self-leveling suspension:
A self-leveling suspension is a type of suspension system designed to automatically adjust the ride height of a vehicle to ensure that it remains level, regardless of the load it is carrying. Self-leveling suspension is also called as active suspension. Every time it is impossible to carry the Accumulator same load by an automobile. Self-levelling suspension is a system which maintains a constant ride height of vehicle above the road with respect to load with respect to change in load it is necessary to adjust vehicle height from the road surface by adjusting the automobile components namely shock absorbers, bumpers, headlights, taillights etc. Due to change in load in automobile vehicle self-levelling suspension system is introduced.
Self-Leveling Suspension Work:
Self-leveling suspension systems use various sensors and components to monitor the vehicle’s ride height and adjust it as needed. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

Sensors: These systems often use height sensors located on the suspension to monitor the vehicle’s ride height. The sensors continuously measure whether the vehicle is level or whether one corner is higher or lower due to the weight distribution.

Construction of self-levelling suspension:
1. The system consists of piston and cylinder mounted on each wheel.
2. This type of suspension is automatically controlled through an E.C.U. i.e. electric control unit.
3. It does not require driver input.
4. It senses the load on the vehicle.
5. Accordingly, signals are transmitted from each wheel and operation of suspension piston starts.
The types of self-leveling suspension which are mentioned below:

6. The space requirement in the wheel anches for free wheel movement kept to a minimum which bias benefit for the overall use of available space.
7. The vehicle body can be suspended more softly, which improved driving comfort.
8. Full compression and rebound travel are maintained whatever the load.
Disadvantages of active suspension:
1. Cost of this system is high (compared to conventional system).
2. The system is bulky as it required air compressor and motor unit as well as Microcomputer Controller Module (MCM).
3. Air distribution lines and pipes are susceptible to leakages and breakages, there by leading to failure of suspension system.
